Have you ever met someone who astounded you with their generosity? People are moved by generosity. The world doesn’t understand it. It defies the natural tendency of humanity, it goes against the grain to say others are more important then self. Generosity is not based on one's economic status. It’s not the size of the bank account but rather the size of the heart. Generosity is the habit of giving without persuasion.
Here are a few thoughts on generosity I extracted from the he story of Jesus Feeding the 5000 in the books of Matthew & John [John 6:1-15 + Matt 14:13-21]
GENEROSITY HAS POWER WHEN IT COMES FROM THE HEART.
GOD REACHES THE WORLD THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF HIS PEOPLE.
GENEROSITY STRETCHES YOUR FAITH.
GENEROSITY CREATES OPPORTUNITY.
GENEROSITY HAS POWER WHEN IT IS DEVISED AND PLANNED.
GENEROSITY COMPELS CHRIST TO LOOK TO HEAVEN AND ASK GOD TO BLESS WHAT WE HAVE GIVEN. GOD’S BLESSINGS ARE ONLY EVER INCREASING!
GENEROSITY WILL BRING REST TO THE MULTITUDES.
GENEROSITY OPENS THE DOOR FOR GOD TO REACH THE MULTITUDES.
GENEROSITY WHEN LINKED WITH GOD CAN FILL THE HUNGER/NEED IN THE WORLD.
OUR GENEROSITY WILL OPEN THE EYES OF THE WORLD TO THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
